The actor lost one of his legs last year in a bid to stay alive.
Legendary Nollywood actor, John Okafor, fondly known as Mr Ibu, has reportedly passed away at age 62.
The actor died at Evercare Hospital in Lagos on Saturday, March 2, 2024, according to multiple reports online, but his family is yet to release an official statement.
The actor’s death comes on the heels of health issues last year, especially struggling with diseased blood cells and constant blood clotting in his leg. After seven surgical operations, one of the actor’s legs was amputated in a bid to save his life.
The public remained unaware of the severity of the actor’s condition until his family pleaded for financial assistance with the hospital bills. He celebrated his 62nd birthday in October 2023 in a hospital bed, surrounded by family.
